Organizing a tech event or hackathon

I’d really like to organise a region-wide hackathon. The strategy

1. Get a Theme and focus: Security should be the first
2. Get a budget and Prize
3. Build a Project website and community involvement
4. Build a project on the theme and a presentation for the event
5. Visit all the tech hubs in states in the region
6. Organize mini-hackathons to fish out the gurus from the different locations
7. Network with 50-100 tech guys and bloggers in the region
8. Get a venue and tighten logistics
9. Invite tech guys to event
10. (Rinse and repeat) Get a repeat strategy
